Rifqa Sa'Aadat is a native Houstonian. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado. She has returned to Houston to continue her career and serve the Houston community. She loves working with children and youth and has taught preschoolers, elementary age children, street law to high schoolers, and youth detained in facilities in Harris County, and has created a detention advocacy curriculum for youth in the detention center. Rifqa has presented at conferences nationally and internationally about children's issues and giving youth a voice in matters that concern them both within the justice system and in their communities. As a volunteer at Generation to Generation Rifqa continues to assist in the coordination of the yearly Zealous Advocacy conference and holiday drives to bring holiday cheer to youth in Harris County youth facilities.
Raisha Williams, a native New Yorker, is currently in her final year at the University of Houston Law Center. She started interning with Generation to Generation in Fall 2023, contributing to editing the youth, family and attorney handbooks for youth involved in child welfare and delinquency systems. Her background includes serving as a former CASA volunteer and working with New York City’s Department of Education, representing the public school system in impartial hearing cases. She has also interned with the Washington D.C. and Harris County public defender offices. Her passion for advocating children’s rights in education drives her to pursue a career in juvenile justice post-graduation.
Amy Abbott is a retired Air Force officer who, after 23 years of service, chose to attend law school as a way to continue serving her community, with a focus on advocacy for youth. Throughout her career and volunteer work, she has dedicated herself to supporting children in foster care, orphanages, and underserved communities, both domestically and abroad. She is currently in her final year at the University of Houston Law Center, where she has gained experience through internships in youth advocacy, civil rights, legislative, and judicial roles, and is passionate about creating equitable opportunities for young people and improving the systems that affect their lives. Amy also earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside, and a Master’s degree from the Air Force’s Air University.
