Meredith Charlton

Intern, Summer 2026

Meredith is a rising 3L at South Texas College of Law Houston.

She is native to Houston and went to law school to give back to her community. She is deeply committed to public interest law, with a focus in immigration and criminal law.

Outside of school, she likes to read fiction books, go for runs, and loves concerts.

Meredith is currently in the Immigration Clinic at STCL Houston and previously interned at Texas Indigent Defense Commission, where she worked on various policy-related projects ranging from the underutilization of Texas’s Public Defense Office’s budgets as they relate to the number of attorneys allowed on staff to tracking the differing rates of foster care reunification between states.

This summer Meredith is looking to focus her G2G internship on immigration-related issues as it intersects with youths, as this is an area she is very passionate about.

Following graduation, she sees herself pursuing a career in Public Defense or Immigration Law, but ultimately remains open to any new opportunities to help those in need.
