Zarana Sanghani
Director
Zarana’s career has been dedicated to building political, social and economic equity for the marginalized. She has worked in non-profits, government and media for 20 years both in the U.S. and abroad.
Her expertise is in strategic planning, program design, coalition building, writing, and leadership building. Through humbling experiences working in partnership with exceptional community leaders, she has developed an approach to focus on how organizations can act on their values and hold on to their vision through difficult and uncertain times.
Her career started with reporting on local politics on the edge of the Navajo reservation, led to writing for a human rights organization in India, advanced to managing a partnership network of 200 organizations in workforce development in New York, and, in Houston, Zarana’s career and passions led to a community organization where she launched a program to reduce youth incarceration. She has since worked as a consultant in social impact. Systems change and adaptive leadership are a cornerstone of her work as a consultant.
She has a bachelor’s from University of Houston and a master’s from Columbia University.
